Notes - Jane is thought to have been abandoned by her husband before the births in Ormskirk Workhouse of Hannah in 1883 and John. She is described as "of Lathom" on Hannah's BC, with father named as George, but as "of Southport" on John's BC with no father named, making it likely that George was not his father.
In the 1891 ensus she is in the workhouse (married not widowed) with her three youngest children in the attached school, while Alice is in service in Southport.
