  • Notes
    • Father's occupation recorded as 'boilermaker' in marriage record - one theory is that 'boatman' was initially abbreviated to BM, which was then misinterpreted.
A son Henry Robinson, age 8, is listed with this family in the 1861 census, who could be Mary's child before marriage, though she would have been only 15-16. No birth or baptism record found under either surname, though there is a Henry Gill, boatman of the right age, born Newburgh, in the 1871-1891 censuses.
