  • Notes
    • The 1841 census has a Thomas Sherman or Sharman, age 15, ship's carpenter, in Liverpool but not born in Lancashire. There is a possible baptism (Cheshire BTs, Findmypast) on July 30 1826 to William and 'Helen' Sherman in Stretton, nr Appleton Thorn, Cheshire, which would make him a brother of the Catherine Sherman b1834 Scarisbrick (qv) who married James Turner in 1853.
