    • Ralph and his sister-in-law Hannah (nee Oakes) drowned in the Mersey near Duke's Dock, Runcorn, when the boat Vine, containing his brothers Thomas (the Master) and John, and her brothers Samuel and Joseph sank. Only Thomas and John survived as they could swim.
