    • Birth registered Q3 1895, but date given by Barnardo's Records Counselling and Support Service in Ilford, which states that he was admitted to the Liverpool Sheltering Home in May 1909, naming his mother as Isabella Hollingsworth and siblings as Owen and Jane. It adds that he left the UK aboard SS Corsican on May 20 1909. Other records show that the Corsican departed Liverpool on May 26 and arrived in Quebec on May 28.
