    No death record found, which presumably would be between birth of daughter Elizabeth and birth of wife's illegitimate son James Thomas Davies, but another possibility is that he abandoned Margaret: there is a James Longton of the right age, a flagger and slater, b Whittle, living in Wheelton with "wife" Margaret and children but no obvious marriage record.
