Probably one of three Ann Ashcrofts baptised in 1826 at St Thomas the Martyr, Upholland.
In 1861 census age 34 (birthplace unclear) as singlewoman in Hunslet with children Caroline, 7, Rebecca, 7, and Thomas, 4, all born in Hunslet.
In 1871 census as Ann Stephenson, married (husband absent) b Orrell, with daughters Caroline and Rebecca (surname given as Asquith) and their husband-to-be Robert Hanson.
In 1881 as Ann Ashcroft, married, b Wigan.
