An unmarried William Barley, 52, waterman b Thorne (qv) is in the 1881 census in Back Street, Thorne; and a 58-year old William, wife Annie, 45 b Thorne (no marriage found) in 1891, also Back St as a Canal Co servant, River Don Navigation.

William married Harriet Clark on 21 Jan 1868 in St Nicholas, Thorne. Harriet (daughter of Jabez Clark and Ruth Cawkwell) was born in 1846 in Thorne; died in 1919 in Church Street, Thorne; was buried on 6 Feb 1919 in Thorne. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
