In 1901 census age 6, granddaughter of William Hornby and Margaret Mawdsley of Burscough (qv) so presumed illegitimate daughter of one of their daughters. (1920 marriage record has her as a widow Howard but with no father named - witnesses Henry and Jane Alty).
