In 1871 and 1881 censuses as Jane Belshaw, as daughter of her mother's husband John Belshaw, but she married as Jane Culshaw naming her father as John Culshaw, a smith. Her children's birth records on Lancs BMD give mother's maiden name as Culshaw.
