    A notice in the local press states: "This is to give notice that I WILL NOT be ANSWERABLE for any DEBTS contracted by my wife RACHEL ANDERSON after this 31st day of August 1864. HIRAM ANDERSON.".

    Hiram married Rachel Davies on 12 Mar 1838 in St Peter, Liverpool. Rachel (daughter of John Davies) was born in 1820 in Runcorn; died on 17 Jul 1888. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Henderson in 1841 and 1851 censuses. Father named as John Davies, waterman, in marriage record, but there is a baptism recorded in Runcorn, 24.1.1821 of a Rachel Carrick Davies, mother Jane Davies, no father named (Cheshire Bishop's Transcripts).
