  Because Ellen named a daughter Frances (Fanny) after her mother, it is assumed that she is not the Ellen born 3.5.1863 Burscough (q.v.) daughter of James Prescott (flatman) and Ann nee Sherman. In 1881 census age 18, general servant to farmer Henry Rimmer in Altcar. Age 22 in marriage record, 29 b Burscough in 1891 census; age 41 b Lydiate in 1901.
