  Kate in some records. Appears twice in 1891 census as Catherine Joy, age 7, as passenger with Peter and Mary Rimmer, in Martin Lane, Burscough, also on the canal at Shevington with ? in space for relationship to head. In 1901 she appears as Catherne Rimmer, 18, daughter of Peter (widower) at Blackrod. In 1911 she is living as Catherine Mayo in Briars Brook, Lathom, age 29, married eight years (husband absent) with four children. Birth records on Lancs BMD for Mary Jane and John (1912) gives maiden name as Joy, for her other children as Rimmer. Baptism record for daughter Ann names father as James Mayo, boatman, but no marriage record found under either surname. There is a possible baptism for a Catherine Louise Joy at Holy Triinity, Toxteth Park, 11.8.1881, parents James Thomas Joy and Jessie.
