  • Notes 
    • The 1881 Census gives Henry's birthplace as "Fore Rig, Yorkshire", which must be Foulridge, Colne, where his parents were married. Henry's baptism is listed at St Bartholomew, Colne, with his name mis-spelt as Falshaw; his brother Thomas was also baptised there, and his birthplace is given in 1881 as Colne. Other census records give their birthplace as Burscough or Lathom, where the family lived. Before the 20th century county boundary changes, Foulridge was but a mile or so from the Yorkshire border.
