  In 1891 census, age one month, with siblings as grandson of Thomas and Alice Baldwin. Baptised the day before his mother, Ann, died. Lathom parish record wrongly names parents as Robert and Mary, with a note saying: "Privately, received at Burscough". Corresponding record among October baptisms at St John the Baptist, Burscough, has notes saying: "Received Oct 11th" and "At Lathom Chapel, Feb 24th" with parents correctly named as William and Ann.
