• Notes

  Appears to have abandoned wife Mary, leaving her pregnant with Harriet, at about the time he married (presumably bigamously) Martha Ann Chadwick in 1876. In 1891 John and Martha have sons Benjamin, 5, and George, 2, in Keighley. Martha is a widow in 1901 but no death record found for John.
