    • Birthplace given as Stainforth in most censuses, except 1861 as Ann Torgoose, widow, nurse to a Doncaster Methodist preacher's family, age 33 with birthplace confirmed as Louth, Lincolnshire.
      Age 42 in 1871 census, with cousin Mary Hannah Alsop (first cousin once removed, daughter of George Alsop and Sarah nee Oldfield).
      Age given as 40 in 1872 marriage record (probably reduced because of age discrepancy with second husband).
      Age 47 in 1881 census, 63 on MI - 'Ann Hinchliffe, the beloved wife of Thomas Proctor Hinchliffe of Stainforth, who departed this life on June 2nd 1890, age 63 years'.
