    Father named as Henry in marriage record, but no baptism record found: assumed to be brother or half-brother of Henry b1819, who was widowed in 1870 and some of whose children are visitors with Mark and Jane in the 1871 census.
    The memorial inscription says that Mark died on October 14 1880, age 51, but his death is recorded as 1879 on Lancs BMD and Free BMD, so it is thought that the wrong year was inscribed.
