    Found drowned at Abergele; death recorded at St Asaph.
    An inquest report in the Cheshire Observer, 24.11.1894, stated that Robert Abrams, 24, captain of the Rose, of Runcorn, and Abraham Jones, 40, had left Llandudno with a cargo of stone . . . 'but as the weather was terribly rough they put back. The vessel became a practical wreck and the two men had to pass the night clinging to the mast.' At first light a lifeboat was launched, but they made for shore in their own boat and got within 100 yards 'when their frail craft capsized and they disappeard never to rise again.'
