    In 'The Sailing Ships and Mariners of Knottingley' Ron Gosney writes that in the 1914-18 War "Tom Rockett volunteered for service with the Admiralty and was taken as a North Sea pilot. After the war he took charge of a Goole motor vessel 'Scooter' running between Southanpton and Caen. He was taken ill aboard this vessel and died in July 1920 at Caen where he was buried."

    Tom married Sarah Elizabeth Cawthorn about Feb 1903 in Pontefract. Sarah (daughter of Joseph Cawthorn and Catherine Daniel) was born in 1869 in Knottingley. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
