Lathom parish record wrongly names parents as Robert and Mary, with a note saying: "Privately, received at Burscough". Corresponding record among October baptisms at St John the Baptist, Burscough, has notes saying: "Received Oct 11th" and "At Lathom Chapel, Feb 24th" with parents correctly named as William and Ann. Lancashire BMD confirms mother's maiden name as Baldwin.
