    Birth registered Q4 1852, mother's maiden name Sharrock. In 1861 census with mother as a boat boy, age 8. There is a GRO death record Q4 1861 Ormskirk, but age given as 4 (Bickerstaffe in Lancs BMDs).
    (Confusingly, an 18-y-o John Harrison, whitesmith and gas fitter b Burscough, is in the 1871 census in Tulketh St, Southport, probably son of Anthony Harrison of Melling, shoemaker.)
